Obituary

Lyle “Butch” Herman Nitschke, Age 63, of Ontario, Oregon went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2011.

He was born to the late Herman Nitschke and to Helen (Goss) Nitschke in Bay City, MI on October 21, 1947.

Lyle enjoyed sharing stories about things that made him laugh or that impacted his life. He will be remembered for his stories, his contagious belly laughs and love for children and the Lord.

Lyle is survived by his children Carrie Nitschke of Aberdeen, Washington; Tony Nitschke of Ontario, Oregon; son Bruce Neill and family of Ontario, Oregon; son Charlie Neill and family of Ontario, Oregon. Lyle is also survived by his mother, Helen (Goss) Nitschke of Everett, Washington and siblings John Nitschke of Ontario, Oregon; Fred Nitschke and family of Monroe, Washington, Betty (Nitschke) Lalani and family of Roseville, California; Doris (Nitschke) Maertz and family of Lynnwood, Washington; and Nancy (Nitschke) Blanchard and family of Everett, Washington. He is further survived by five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 32279 Apple Valley Road, Parma, Idaho on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

What Happened...

Sometime in Lyle’s life it looks like he had rheumatic fever which affected a heart valve, leaving it somewhat misshapen. It appears that Lyle’s immune system was compromised over the last while and, among other things, has developed Diabetes which is an autoimmune disease. These conditions were prime for a staph infection to enter his blood stream through a sore, boil or some form of lesion. The doctor’s guess is that as it passed through his heart it lodged onto the altered area of the heart. The staph infection on his heart caused a stroke and blood clots that went to his brain which resulted in brain damage to areas of his brain. These conditions also made it a prime condition for Metformin (Diabetes drug) poisoning and other various infections on or in his body in the form of yeast and fungal. Lyle is battling many things.

Essential Oils

The first four days we were at the hospital the "day nurse" that was working was Vicki. She explained to us the studies that have been done on the power of prayer in these situations. Once she realized we were not only open to holistic measures, but eager to administer as much as the hospital would let us, she told us to go right ahead. She was not able to administer anything that was not directed by a doctor, but she said we had free reign. We rubbed coconut oil over as much of his body as we could, we also put lavender oil on him. We put oregano oil on his toenails which were infected with a fungus. The room smelled wonderful. When the night nurse, Thomas, came on his shift, Vicki told him what we had done and that she was all for it. When the morning rolled around Thomas came in to say he was going home, but first was going to find an Italian restaurant and have some spaghetti. He said that Lyle’s room no longer smelled like a hospital and kept him thinking of Italian food and was quite hungry! We were so blessed to have the nurses we had.
